Painting NoCo 9-Year Premier Workmanship Warranty
Available on qualifying projects finished with Sherwin-Williams Duration or Emerald exterior coatings in a documented two-coat system.
What is covered
For nine years from the date of substantial completion, Painting NoCo will, at no cost to the property owner, repair and repaint any areas that peel, blister, crack, or otherwise fail due to improper surface preparation or workmanship on the originally painted surfaces.
Eligibility requirements
- Products: Sherwin-Williams Duration or Emerald exterior lines must be supplied and applied by Painting NoCo.
- System: Verified two-coat application. Primer where required plus two finish coats applied at proper spread rates and dry times.
- Preparation: Surfaces cleaned, sanded, caulked, patched, and primed per Painting NoCo’s prep checklist.
- Scope: Applies to exterior siding, trim, fascia, doors, soffits, and previously painted stucco or masonry included in the proposal.
- Completion: Project must be paid in full per contract terms.
- Effective Date: This 9-Year Warranty applies to all projects completed on or after November 15, 2025. Projects completed before that date remain covered under Painting NoCo’s 5-Year Workmanship Warranty.
Exclusions and limitations
- Horizontal or water-catching surfaces such as window sills, railings, handrails, tops of walls, and flat caps
- Moisture-related issues including leaks, wicking, condensation, vapor drive, ice dams, or failing caulk
- Weather or environmental factors including hail, wind-driven rain or debris, flooding, fire, or other acts of God
- Substrate movement or failure including structural settling, cracking, peeling from prior coatings, or unpainted wood grain raise
- Abuse or contamination including pressure washing, harsh chemicals, sprinklers, pets, or foreign residues
- Normal wear and fading including expected color shift or chalking from UV exposure
- Areas excluded from the proposal or later modified by others
Decks and horizontal surfaces
Decks, stair treads, and other horizontal walking surfaces are not covered under this or any workmanship warranty. Colorado’s climate causes intense UV exposure, freeze and thaw cycles, snow and ice buildup, and rapid temperature swings. These forces drive expansion, contraction, and moisture absorption that lead to premature coating failure even with premium products and ideal preparation. Deck and tread finishes are treated as maintenance coatings with periodic renewal rather than warrantied systems.
Owner care requirements
- Annual gentle cleaning with a garden hose and mild soap. Do not use high-pressure washing over 1000 PSI
- Maintain functional gutters and drainage
- Recaulk joints that show movement or separation
- Avoid pressure washing over 1000 PSI, hot water rinses, harsh chemicals, and abrasive cleaning tools
- Promptly repair leaks, roof issues, and sprinkler overspray
How to make a claim
- Submit: Email photos and a brief description to estimates@paintingnoco.com with subject line Warranty Claim – [Property Address]
- Response: We respond within two business days and schedule an inspection
- Remedy: Covered repairs are completed seasonally, weather permitting, typically within 30 days in paint season
- Repair scope: We repaint the failed area and blend to logical break points. This is not a full-home repaint
Transferability
The 9-Year Warranty is transferable one time within 24 months of completion upon written notice from the original owner. Later transfers void the warranty.
Interior painting warranty and exclusions
Interior warranty: Interior projects include a 5-Year Workmanship Warranty that covers peeling, blistering, or cracking due to improper surface preparation or application.
Interior exclusions:
- Impact, abrasion, or cleaning with harsh chemicals
- Moisture or humidity issues in bathrooms, kitchens, or basements unless moisture-resistant systems were specified
- Stains or discoloration from smoke, cooking, candles, or water leaks
- Normal wear, fading, or sheen loss from cleaning or daily use
- Movement in new drywall or patchwork such as settling or hairline cracking
- Color matching limitations for small touch-ups
